Wer sich gefragt hat wie Carrie so war vor der City und vor allem vor dem Sex, der sollte „The Carrie Diaries“ lesen. Sehr unterhaltsam, vor allem weil man in dem jungen Mädchen bereits die erwachsene Carrie wiederfindet. Denn auch hier gibt sie dem Jungen den Vorzug, der Ärger bedeutet, vor dem der ihr hilft ihre Träume zu verwirklichen. Das Mr. Big/Ayden-Dilemma, nur eben auf der Highschool. Doch es gibt auch Unterschiede zu entdecken. Ich habe versucht in ihren Freundinnen von damals Ähnlichkeiten zu Charlotte, Samantha und Miranda zu erkennen, weil es sich irgendwie unvollständig anfühlt ohne die drei, aber es wollte mir nicht gelingen. Und ich kam zu dem Schluss, dass dies auch ganz gut so ist. Denn so wurde etwas Neues mit Altbekanntem kombiniert. Das spricht für die Autorin, die somit treue und neue Fans gleichermaßen bedient. Anders als bei anderen Büchern, ist man sofort mit der Hauptprotagonistin vertraut, ohne sich zu langweilen, weil die alte Story in einem ähnlichen Gewandt nur aufgewärmt wird. Aber für alle Fans taucht ganz zum Schluss noch Samantha auf und rettete damit nicht nur Carrie sondern auch mir den Tag.Da das Buch auch zur Serienreife gebracht werden soll, bin ich auf die Umsetzung gespannt.Bis dahin werde ich bestimmt ziemlich bald den zweiten Teil lesen, denn einmal Carrie-holic, immer Carrie-holic. Da ist es egal ob mit Sex und City oder ohne Sex in der Kleinstadt.

2 Tage brauchte ich nur um dieses Meisterwerk ausgelesen zu haben. Candace schafft es wieder einmal mich in ihren Bann bzw. in den Bann von Carrie Bradshaw zu ziehen. Keine Minute vergeht in der man sich langweilt oder sich nicht denkt "das könnte ich sein". Wirklich gut gelungen - besser hätte man Carries Leben vor New York gar nicht beschreiben können. Es versetzt einen zurück und man versteht warum Carrie so geworden ist, wie sie alle lieben! Ein großer Dank an die Autorin!!!

Ein must-read fuer alle Carrie Fans! Ein zuckersüsser Einblick in ihr Senior Year in der Kleinstadt, bevor sie zu der NYC Ikone wurde. Tolles Buch für Teenies, aber auch "twentie-something girls". Wollte es nur am Strand lesen, konnte dann aber die Finger nicht davon lassen.

Mit Sex and the City hat das Buch rein gar nichts zu tun - ich fand auch nicht, dass der Hauptcharakter des Buches der Carrie Bradshaw aus den Fernsehfolgen aehnelt. Dennoch sehr unterhaltsames kurzweiliges Buch.

Das Buch ist wirklich sehr einfach geschrieben und somit auch für Leser ohne große Englischkenntnisse einfach lesbar.Ich finde es allerdings sehr schade das es Absolut anders als die Serie ist - das Verwirrt etwas. Deshalb nur 3 Sterne.

it is true that this book has little to do with the plot of the actual series and the persons we're used to from TV (but so do other books by candace bushnell). if anything, it sounds a bit like Carrie's reflexions at the beginning of each episode. if you like them (like i do), you might love this book.i don't regret one bit that this doesn't come across like the series (especially the last (two) seasons, where S. J. Parker slowly took over directing). it's got more of the charme of the first seasons.i find this book different from the previous ones by bushnell. much more touching. it is actually the first literary book that i marked my favorite passages in - and there are many of them.it starts out conveying the troubles around high school really vividly - and fun - with the added insight of a grown woman.in so far, it is more an in-retro description than an actual diary. i don't care. it makes me understand why someone who watches and reads people so well, who expresses herself so originally and can be so honest about where and why she pretends just must be a writer.i feel that bushnell herself has grown as a writer, too. style-wise she may have moved from cool and detached like an american fay weldon (narrating dense plots with a certain view) to melissa banks, who makes you understand how people act and depicts them with insight and herself with honesty. "the girl's guide to hunting and fishing" is totally not what the title sounds like but a book i love and the only one that i can compare carrie's diaries with.why the one-star-reduction? it made me lust after drinks with umbrellas and cigs - just like the series ;-)
